Pneumatic Compression Devices have long been prescribed by healthcare professionals for the treatment of a wide range of venous, lymphatic and arterial disorders. Pneumatic compression devices are used around the world in the acute care setting for the prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). They are referred to as "SCDs". In the home setting, they are commonly referred to as "lymphedema pumps", although they are used to treat a wide variety of circulatory disorders, including lymphedema, venous insufficiency, venous stasis ulcers and peripheral artery disease (PAD).
If you are a healthcare professional, or a patient, and you use Compression Therapy Devices or other lymphedema products, your options are important to you, and so are the facts related to your healthcare insurance coverage.
