ManukaMed®, Manukahd® Lite, Honey is a honey impregnated absorbent dressing with super absorbent gelling fiber with active medical grade Manuka honey. A hydrocolloid surface coating on the pad combines with exudates to produce a non-adherent wound interface that facilitates the sustained release of Manuka honey. The dressing will maintain a balanced moist environment conducive to wound healing. By using honey on wounds can result in the rapid reduction of malodor. High sugar levels in the honey result in osmotic pressure which helps to promote autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue.
