Compression Device, 4 Chamber, Venous Pumps

Venous Insufficiency can be the result of a few different vein disorders, most commonly varicose veins or deep vein thrombosis, which is basically a blood clot. If you've been referred to a specialist center such as BioHorizon Medical, it is helpful to understand why treatment is so important. If your veins are healthy, blood is able to continuously flow from your limbs to your heart. There are actually valves inside your veins that eliminate the chance of the back flow of blood. Now, if you have Venous Insufficiency, this means that there is an obstruction that is blocking the forward flow of blood. In some cases, there can also be backward leakage through damaged valves. It is also not uncommon to have the forward flow obstructed as well as backward leakage.

BioHorizon Medical offers several treatment options for Venous Insufficiency. Our Four Chamber Compression Devices are used for the treatment and management of both venous and lymphatic disorders.  These devices use four, overlapping compression cells, (i.e. chambers) of sequential, non-gradient pressure on affected limbs to get blood and fluids circulating properly. Four Chamber Devices are quiet, easily transportable and perfect for use in a home. Four Chamber Devices are most commonly used to alleviate afflictions associated with venous insufficiency, the reduction of peripheral edema, various lymphatic disorders that occur secondary to venous disorders and venous stasis ulcers. Venous Stasis Ulcers make up an estimated 90 percent of chronic wound cases.
